This question, as presented on the night, omitted the crucial word "immediately". This left the field open to any number of candidates, from William Edward Barclay and John McKenna (jointly from 1892 to 1896) to Kenny Dalglish (2011–12) – before Brendan Rodgers (2012–15) and Jurgen 'Klippety' Klopp (from 2015 to date).
According to Wikipedia's list, I actually make it 20 possible answers. This includes Rodgers, but not Klopp, or Ronnie Moran who was caretaker for 52 days in 1991. It also counts Dalglish, who had two separate spells in charge, as one answer.
